February 2010 Florida Trip
by Janet Watson

Our trip to Florida in February was a good time as usual. We had our favorite driver, Mike Bauer. He sings to us and caters to all of us. If we're off the bus and it starts raining he comes running with a couple umbrellas to help Shirley, Carol and Rosa, or any of us that need help. Mike is the best.

Rose Lombardi and June Crawford kept us fed with their very tasty home baked goods. Linda and Bob Miller and Remo Norton and his friend, Millie did a good job getting the picnic together. That is a lot of work and thank you from all of us.

They just didn't get the heat turned on down there! It was colder than it has ever been for the picnic since we have been going. Windy, too.

Coming back from the picnic, the bus blew a tire and Ginny Tilton was standing up in her seat looking out the window at the progress the repairmen were making on that big tire, or just watching the men.

Betty and George Bailey, Gloria and Bob McNamer, Russell Miller, Jean Mathews and Myrtle Hay were at the picnic for the first time. We went to Tampa for some gambling at the Hard Rock Cafe. Bonnie Hays was the big winner, as well as Bob and Jo Breckenridge and Susan Spangle. Bonnie was celebrating another birthday. We went to St. Augustine for a day of shopping and touring. And again, it was tooo cold!  We wanted to visit Jean Clark and Mary Coe in the Care Center there but it didn't work out. We were all disappointed. The Kreutler's and the Roaches are a good time on any trip. Rich and Glenn are always into something. Janet and Zedoc Holt always do their own thing. They are grandparents now. Clyde Dowell was pretty entertaining too. We had Karaoke at the hotel but Orlando Earl wouldn't sing for us this year. That made wife Virginia happy. Hazel and George Purdum and Ginny and Will Bowers were taking care of the cooler in the back of the bus. Carol Clark was mother hen over all of us. The girls in the back of the bus were having a wild card game as we rode along. Carl Valentine and Rudy Notumiano were keeping everything nice and tidy. Rudy was nice to help clean up the bus at the end of trip. All in all, it was a fun trip with many good memories.

Put it on your calendar and go with us next year the third Tuesday of February.
